Our Ongoing Initiative: #colorforacause
Our mission at STUK Designs has always been clear and straightforward- to provide girls in underserved communities’ access to art education and teach self-love through art to help them cope and succeed in life.
Now a lot of you may or may not be aware of our newest project- the Color for a Cause Campaign. It began by us providing colouring sheets to those interested and having them colour in them- modify them- use their imagination, and post pictures on social media. We do this because we want people to take a few moments to isolate themselves from their worries and imagine the possibilities of life. In return, the support garnered through this walks us to our main goal of helping girls in underserved communities’.
You may think, why is this campaign so important? Why is our organization so focused on art education and its correlation with self love?
Through art we are free to let our creativity take the wheel. We are free from prejudice, from pressures of society, and can be our truest most genuine selves.
When it’s just you, a blank canvas in front of you and tools to draw or paint, you are unstoppable. The possibilities to what you can do on that canvas are endless.
This reciprocates to your life. You will realize the possibilities to what you can do in your life are endless. Once you learn how to express yourself through art, it gives you a different perspective and nourishes your self-expression. Art is also incredibly therapeutic. When engaged in an artistic project, you can let all your worries fly away. People need an outlet for all that pent up stress, frustration, depression, and anxiety.
Our Color for a Cause Campaign and events aim to not only promote confidence, creativity and self love in people, but also the spirit of unity and kindness. When we sit with each other, talk, engage in activities together like art for instance, which is what color for a cause does, it’ll help so many individuals cope with whatever is going on in their lives.
We have recently launched two coloring books, for kids and adults each. They contain over 70 illustrations of powerful women from everyday life belonging to different races along with self-love reminders. We wanted to create a healing experience for people through our coloring books. The proceeds from these purchases go towards funding girls in underserved communities.
Moreover, our partnerships manager and recently crowned Miss Indiana Volunteer- Madelyn, has begun the STUK school tour partnering with IamThatGirl . During the tour, she brings along the kids coloring books and teaches little children the value of self love, and importance of racial equality through art.
We understand how crucial it is to instill self-love in children at a very young age, and also provide them with a tool to help them cope whenever they find themselves in tough waters. Our STUK school tour aims to serve this very purpose.
Our coloring books are available on the website. Color by yourself, or with friends, post pictures and tag us with the hashtag #colorforcause. Or maybe just make art of your own and show us. Either way, use it to heal, and to love yourself a little more.
Until next time,
xoxo
