Your Name: Alana Renee Talbert
Your Zodiac Sign: Pisces
Where are you from? Los Angeles
What’s your focus, purpose, passion, and contribution to the world?
I cultivate creatives and encourage them to live off of their talents.
How do you do it and who do you do it with?
I create online courses and communities for new entrepreneurs through my company ARTWerk Creative, so that they can learn online business strategy as well as how to monetize their Social Media accounts alongside aspiring entrepreneurs around the country with the same vision. But that's not all! I'm also the Business & Operations Director of Pink House Productions. ARTWerk is all me but Pink House is run with 2 of my cousins & 2 of our friends from Boston.
What are your special talents?
I am an encyclopedia of Disney facts. I can cook my ass off. I'm a very detailed and strategic planner, which is why I love helping people plot out their businesses to help them get to these coins. I'm great at bringing like minded people together. Most importantly, I'm a great cat mom!
What are you working on at the moment?
This year ARTWerk is going to reach over 1000 new entrepreneurs with our online courses, so the marketing and systems to get that into place are being worked on now. Quick classes, full length courses and one-on-one coaching opportunities are the things that I wish I had when I first started out, so I'm collecting all of the information that I've learned over the past 3 years and packaging it all up so that it's not overwhelming and is digestible for people who are just taking the leap to venture out on their own. We're also in the beginning stages of several brand collaborations with female entrepreneurs who have parallel visions, so magic is happening within the community as well.
What does your art mean to you?
My initials are ART so my art is literally a piece of myself that I choose to share with the world. I'm always amazed at the things that people create because it gives me a chance to see a bit of the world through their eyes.
What does love mean to you?
Love is probably one of the simplest yet most complex things you can experience. It costs nothing, but then can cost everything. Love means the world to me and makes my existence feel light and easy, which is why I give it to myself, and those around me abundantly.
How does your zodiac sign impact the way you love?
As a Pisces, I'm ruled by my emotions, so I can be very empathetic when it comes to love. I give A LOT, but I've learned that my love language is giving gifts and acts of service, so that makes a ton of sense.
What does God mean to you?
God, to me, means creation. Almost every religion starts with a creation story, so I know I'm not alone in this vision of God. Creativity is the root of all things that come into being and that's where I choose to spend my time, in a space of God/creation.
When did you learn self-love?
I think I learned at a young age because now that self-care is a trending topic, I realized that it's been second-nature to me since I was young. So nowadays I'm like... everyone doesn't do this? Lol. I'm an only child and my mom is a creative, so I've always given myself a lot of quality time alone and often had ample tools and supplies to create and love on myself in my house.
How has practicing self-love changed your life?
It's made me very self-aware and therefore aware of how I can expand myself to help those around me. Not everyone can so easily see the value in themselves, so I actively try to reflect the worth that I see in others back onto them.
What is your philosophy of life?
We are created to create!
What advice would you give someone who is attempting to make a dream into a career?
Come talk to me! No but really, I'd tell them to start working on their dream immediately. Most people hold themselves back because they're afraid that they will fail. Failures WILL happen but the sooner you learn how to bounce back from them, the easier your road to success will be. So start failing! Get used to it and learn to love failure. Failing and hitting roadblocks will only teach you more about yourself. It will get you out of your comfort zone and force you to pivot when you didn't want to. If you really want to practice true self love, loving your WHOLE self, you'll also have to know how to love you when you're at your lowest.
Nobody knows I am.... obsessed with making the perfect macaroni & cheese recipe.
I wish I could stop... binging on Netflix when I don't want to work on my business.
Self love means... giving yourself the permission to be free.
I find true beauty in… Tulips!
I want to teach my child or children that... they have everything that they need to be whatever they want to be!
