#STUKGIRL OF THE MONTH: DESIREE
“A #STUKGIRL is a multidimensional woman of substance. She wears many entrepreneurial hats in this life, embraces her own creativity and self love to the fullest. She does what she loves and inspires others while doing it. And she helps teach girls about self love” – STUK Designs
“I met Desiree about 2 years ago! In that time she has taught me an unimaginable amount from spirituality, to creativity, to faith and sharing my voice. She is the epitome of a strong creative black woman in her divine feminine creative BAG! She has her own creative company called: Savage Custom Creations LLC. I only buy soaps from here now because she makes them by hand on her farm in Arkansas and they are the cutest soaps infused with crystals and chakra balancing elements. She also creates candles, tea blends, she paints, draws and crochets and so much more! She is an Akashic Records guide and leads the most profound meditations. It changed my life! She also is a reader and one of the most intuitive people I have ever met! She reads tarot and oracle cards. She is an oracle - in fact. All her products and services make up full body healing in every way! Get into her story! Wishing you all deep healing and many blessings!” ~ STUK Founder, Brette Sims
Your Name:
Desiree Dixson
Your Zodiac Sign:
Gemini
Where are you from?
Arkansas, USA
What’s your focus, purpose, passion, and contribution to the world?
There are a couple things I’m passionate about. I truly believe in and work towards raising awareness about mental health, spreading kindness, teaching self love, and understanding compassion. The realities each of us live in can sometimes be harsh, which makes having a safe haven all the more necessary.
How do you do it and who do you do it with?
I do it by being myself, out loud and proudly! I do not worry about who will judge me or who will stop talking to me. If my doing so touches just one person, my mission is a success. I do so, hoping others will also gain the courage to live in their truth.
What are your special talents?
Crafting, woodworking, and mediumship
What are you working on at the moment?
A doggie line of products. I have products that cater to everyone. As a dog mom, I make many products I use for them, and they love them. I thought others would also!
What does your art mean to you?
Love, beauty, dedication. As an individual of many talents, art for me is more than canvas. Art is the love created when one is dedicated to making the world beautiful. It comes from paintings, nature, fiber arts, and more.
What does love mean to you?
In high school, one teacher defined love as giving someone the ability to hurt you and hoping they won’t. It never sat well with me. I saw it as anticipating people to let you down. Love? Love is the happy dance you do when you are about to eat your favorite food. Love is the feeling you get when a child gives you a bubbly “hi” to you in passing. It is inimitable because it is different with every relationship. The love you receive for one person is not the same love you receive from another.
How does your Gemini zodiac sign impact the way you love?
I crave mental stimulation and touch! I love conversation and exciting adventures. Reversely, too much sensory stimulation and my anxiety go into overdrive. I tend to go inside my bubble and be alone for long periods when that happens.
What does God mean to you?
Life, love, beauty, creation, and most importantly, me in all my melanin!
When did you learn self-love?
I believe self-love has always been a part of who I am. However, I don’t think I really embraced it until I went to college. I learned that taking care of myself needed to come before anything else.
How has practicing self-love changed your life?
Whew! Let’s see if I can sum that up! No one or anything is allowed to interfere with my progress in building myself. No family bond, no friendship, no job-or money- is worth me disrespecting me! I believe growth comes with new challenges, and if those challenges depreciate your self-love… well, it has to go!
What is your philosophy of life?
“There is not one single thing that has happened to you or will happen to you that is ever wasted.” – Oprah Winfrey
What advice would you give someone who is attempting to make a dream into a career?
The only thing standing in your way is you! If you have the dedication and determination to succeed, you will! There will be some setbacks and disappointments, but remembering your WHY will make it all worth it!
Nobody knows I… hard of hearing. I started having trouble hearing after my battle with covid.
I wish I could stop... overthinking everything.
Self love means… having compassion for myself. There are days when I make mistakes, but it’s important to remember I am human. “If we really want to practice compassion, we have to start by setting boundaries and
holding people accountable for their behavior.” – Brene’ Brown
I find true beauty in… the foundations of my spirituality. It is who I am, what I have become, and what I will become—the ability to ground myself and fall back into my true being.
I want to teach my child or children that... nothing in life is impossible. If you set your heart out to achieve something, it will work out how it’s intended.
